Luna Garden Montessori is a collaborative learning community that infuses art into our already strong Montessori philosophy. We aim to inspire the joyful discovery of self, and a passion for learning and expressing creatively. We prepare students to become knowledgeable, responsible and peaceful contributors to the world around us.
Our Philosophy and Core Values
"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around." -Leo Buscaglia
At Luna Garden Montessori we make the extra effort daily to infuse lessons of kindness into our curriculum. We know how tremendous the ripple effect just one act of kindness can have and we want to empower our students with social skills that will help them navigate important relationships in life. It's important to plant these seeds while they are young.
"It is the artists of the world, the feelers and thinkers, who will ultimately save us, who can articulate, educate, defy, insist, sing, and shout the big dreams." ~Leonard Bernstein
Creativity is a superpower that can help children become the best versions of themselves and prepare them to make the world a better place in the future. Everyone has this power and we cultivate it at our school by encouraging students to invent, experiment, take risks, make mistakes and have fun all while in a inspirational environment!
Respect for self, others, and the world around us
"Treat everybody exactly as you would like to be treated by them." ~ Golden Rule
Respect is a leading factor of a peaceful classroom, and we always want your child to feel safe and at peace while learning. This is perhaps the most important value in the world and a cornerstone of a Montessori education. We infuse this value in all our lessons, choice of materials, and interactions with our students. While at school we will have many conversations about what respect is and how it involves: listening to others, caring for our environment, treating yourself and others well, using manners, and practicing patience. These are big lessons for preschoolers but so important because being respectful is a key ingredient to being the best person you can be.
“The important thing is not to stop questioning.” – Albert Einstein
As educators, we understand that how open your child is to learning will help determine their path in life. We have invested in our own personal training in positive discipline, Montessori education, and holistic learning because we know our role is to help guide them to reach their potential is the most positive environment possible. We want them to stay curious and to LOVE coming to school. We know there will be times in their academic journeys when they will feel frustrated and we want to instill a passion for learning and a growth mindset that will benefit them way beyond preschool. This is a lifelong process and your child is only beginning to understand the world around them. At Luna Garden Montessori we respect and honor this precious time in their learning.
Individualized instruction of the whole child
"One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation." -Arthur Ashe
All of our students have unique talents and gifts, personalities and styles. We all think differently and we are grateful for these differences at Luna Garden Montessori! We understand that each child learns differently and our curriculum and materials are designed to build on individualized learning styles. Henry David Thoreau said, "you are a marvel." and we couldn't agree more about each of our students! We pay special attention to each child and customize their daily learning to help them thrive.
“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” – Marcel Proust
We are extremely grateful to each of our parents and their families for entrusting us with the care and education of their beloved children. We are parents ourselves and we understand how having a child truly is forever having your heart walk outside of your body. At Luna Garden Montessori, we involve parents in the learning process and support ample communication with parents and guardians. We want our students to be successful and we know that open communication with parents is key to your child's success. Along with weekly newsletters, a password protected parent portal on our website, and information sent home through your child's folder, we also hold monthly events and invite parents into our classroom to be a part of the learning environment.
It is the express policy of Luna Garden Montessori to admit students of any race, color, nationality or ethnic origin to all of the rights, privileges and programs made available to the corporation.
